PROJECTS THAT
leave their mark

Building for Humans is the guiding concept behind Politecnica’s design philosophy: every project is conceived with the aim of improving people’s quality of life. This translates into solutions that integrate aesthetics, functionality, innovation, and social responsibility, applied in complex urban contexts as well as in healthcare, education, and industry.

Every project promotes inclusion, accessibility, and well-being, while also ensuring the safety of end-users and compliance with environmental regulations. The active involvement of local stakeholders is a well-established practice in our co-design process.

A sustainable revitalization that breathes life into culture and the city’s future

CAVALLERIZZA REALE

In the heart of Turin, the Cavallerizza Reale is being reborn thanks to a restoration and regeneration project designed by Cino Zucchi Architetti in collaboration with Politecnica. The project returns over 30,000 square meters to the city, transforming them into an open, inclusive, and multifunctional public space dedicated to culture, education, and social innovation.
SDG 4 – QUALITY EDUCATION
In a context of socio-economic hardship, the hub offers inclusive spaces for sports, cultural, and educational activities. The project includes accessible facilities and dedicated equipment, such as a theater, ICT classrooms, and a honey production lab, all located on a reclaimed and safe site.

SDG 10 – REDUCING INEQUALITIES
The project promotes universal accessibility and social inclusion through flexible, shared spaces, encouraging everyone’s participation in cultural and urban life.

SDG 11 – SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
Urban regeneration enhances the historical heritage and creates new connected and accessible public spaces, contributing to social cohesion and urban quality.

When the restoration of a place serves to strengthen a community

FORT CHARLOTTE

The restoration of Fort Charlotte transforms a colonial fort dating back to 1763 into a museum, highlighting the island’s historical and multicultural heritage. A sustainable and inclusive project that restores to the community a place for dialogue, growth, and shared identity.
SDG 8 – DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
The project creates new employment opportunities through a café, a souvenir shop, and activities promoting local crafts. The installations are entrusted to local artisans, while the construction site promotes specialized training for workers in restoration.

SDG 11 – SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
The Fort becomes a space open to the community and a cultural attraction, with separate access points for residents and tourists. The construction site layout is designed to minimize the impact on the area and keep certain functions operational during the work.

SDG 16 – PEACE, JUSTICE, AND STRONG INSTITUTIONS
The museum tells a forgotten local story, with a participatory and evolving exhibition. Workshops and public discussions strengthen the dialogue between institutions and the community, fostering historical awareness and a sense of identity.
